David Trubridge - Flax

David Trubridge

The Flax is based on the long slender leaves of the indigenous flax plant (or "harakeke" in Maori) - A plant highly valued for it's fibre.

There is a Maori proverb about preserving important resources: "If you cut the central stalk of the flax bush, where will the bellbird feed?" Maori would only take some of the outer leaves, to ensure an ongoing supply.

The Flax is often placed in living rooms, wide entrance entrances, larger bedrooms and over dining tables. Depending on your space, we can help advise you on an appropriate size.
