We are proud to unveil the second collection in our Co.Lab series: a colourful reimagining of Herringbone parquet timber flooring by London-based design studio Raw Edges in collaboration with acclaimed British design brand Established & Sons.
The Wall to Wall collection gives designers the freedom to create distinctive outcomes for every project – from bold, graphic compositions to more subtle, tonal configurations.
Originally conceived in 2009 for Design Miami/Basel, Wall to Wall transforms traditional herringbone flooring into a flexible, mosaic-style design system that celebrates colour, craft, and creative expression. After its launch, the collection became a part of the Established & Sons Signature Collection, and was installed in more than 40 Stella McCartney retail spaces around the world, with each fit-out featuring a site-specific design. Now, for the first time, it is being brought to market in Australia through an exclusive partnership with Tongue & Groove.
“There was such an instant reaction to the floor when we first showed it,” says Shay Alkalay, co-founder of Raw Edges with Yael Mer. “You can use it to create a bold statement or more subtle patterns – there are so many possibilities. The floor becomes an art piece, and that’s really exciting.”
At the heart of the collection is a deceptively simple idea: using hand-stained oak blocks to create custom patterns that define and animate interior spaces – from sweeping graphic patterns, to defining zones without walls, or integrating intuitive wayfinding.
The collection is produced at a workshop in Manzano, Italy. Each board is constructed from three layers of European oak for enhanced stability, and individually stained by hand using a palette of 22 colours. The colour penetrates the surface of the timber, offering a durable finish that doesn’t obscure the natural beauty of the timber grain. The result is a system that allows designers to create site-specific layouts that bring a unique identity to every fit-out.

“The design scene in Australia is so dynamic and adventurous – and that really aligns with what Wall to Wall is about,” says Pol Mauri, Creative Lead at Established & Sons. “With Wall to Wall, the floor becomes a canvas – and that opens up a kind of playfulness that’s hard to achieve with other products. That’s what really sets Wall to Wall apart from other flooring – it’s only limited by your skill and imagination.”
The Wall to Wall collection was officially launched as part of Co.Lab during Saturday Indesign 2025, with installations in Tongue & Groove’s Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane showrooms. Seven suspended panels, designed by Raw Edges, showcased the system’s full expressive potential.

“Co.Lab is about pushing the boundaries of timber flooring” says Richard Karsay, CEO of Tongue & Groove. “Wall to Wall gives designers complete creative flexibility and has the potential to radically transform how timber flooring is used – it’s a whole new concept. When designers have the freedom to express themselves, that’s when the magic happens.”
Co.Lab is a pioneering initiative from Tongue & Groove that combines the brand’s precision engineering with the creativity of globally celebrated designers to create extraordinary timber flooring collections. Each collaboration reimagines the possibilities of flooring as a platform for design innovation.
