Pavilion House by Jorge Hrdina Architects is a contemporary family home that sits on a double block in the exclusive suburb of Mosman, Sydney. Sharing the block with a 19th-century Queen Anne heritage home, the Pavilion House borrows ideas from its neighbour, linking the old with the new.

Craftsmanship, form and materiality establishes a strong connection between the existing and new buildings. Intricately hand-crafted details and similar materials feature in the new dwelling. Matching the base of the federation house, the new building is grounded in rough-hewn sandstone. Enduring, natural and honest materials define the interior space.

Sculpted concrete beams, stained Blackbutt timber, frameless glass doors and smooth honed sandstone floors feature throughout the ground floor. A winding staircase with oak treads leads to a small self-contained apartment and media room above and an underground cellar below.

Tongue n Groove solid engineered European oak floorboards in the Hekke colour, Eterno classic wire-brushed finish and Grande format feature throughout the interior.

A modern smokey grey colour with warm brown undertones, Hekke achieves a unique weathered effect, perfect for those looking for a floor with character.
