While design cues were taken from the heritage of the home, a modern spin on a Parisian aesthetic was used throughout. Each element of the finely detailed kitchen that became a hub for the family’s everyday activities was configured to maximise functionality.
Rising up to meet the high ceilings, colonial square cabinetry provides ample storage, while making the kitchen appear bigger than it is. A central island benchtop in luxe Carrara marble provides extra space for food preparation and informal dining.
With a focus on opening up the spaces, an effortless flow is created from the kitchen into the living and dining rooms by using repeating materials and colours. Minimalist furniture pieces in shades of grey and emerald green continue the refined aesthetic, while the dark timber parquetry flooring adds texture and detail to the spaces, providing a seamless transition between the different zones.
Many of the home’s original architectural features were restored, such as the original arched fireplaces in the bedrooms, to retain the elegant charm of the building’s aesthetic.
