On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Greg Natale has transformed a red-brick townhouse into a layered celebration of global influence, artistic expression, and timeless European craft. Inspired by the owners’ love of Italian artistry and Parisian maximalism, the four-storey residence is defined by bold colour, sculptural marble, and custom detailing – including the signature Ada solid European Oak boards from Natale’s Co.Lab, the Bosco Collection, with Tongue & Groove.
“We were developing the Bosco Collection at the same time as we were finishing the interiors for the New York House, so the timing couldn’t have been better,” says Natale. “As soon as we landed on the Ada design, I knew it was perfect for the project.”
Used throughout the main living and bedroom levels, the Ada floor in Tongue & Groove’s Freado finish anchors the interior with a subtle yet dynamic rhythm. “The wave detail gives it flow, which works beautifully with the house,” says Natale. “It’s subtle enough to let the rest of the space breathe but still has enough personality to hold its own.”
The soft curves of the timber floor echo the scalloped stone and curved joinery, complementing a richly tactile palette of Italian marble, bespoke furniture, and hand-crafted details. “The floor helped tie everything together without feeling too matchy,” says Natale. “There’s a rhythm to the palette so that everything feels layered, tactile, and intentional.”
While the home is located in New York, the collaboration with Tongue & Groove’s team in Australia was seamless. “The product arrived in perfect condition, beautifully packed and ready to go,” recalls Natale. “The Tongue & Groove team just gets the level of detail we’re after.”
